Demographic Winter

While doing my daily political reading I came across a new documentary entitled Demographic Winter. Basically, the new documentary is about the worldwide decline in birth rates and the decline's catastophic effects on life as we currently enjoy it. I've been following this worldwide trend for several years now and so may assume that many others are somewhat aware of the issue. Perhaps, not.

Actions and inactions have consequences. I have long thought that the rejection by many Christian sects of the sacramental nature of marriage was a mistake. What once was the exclusive domain of the Church was handed over to secular authorities. Now Christian congregations find themselves trying to stem the rise of same sex unions. How many children are produced by same sex union? None. But many Christian congregations lack any authority on marriage, as they have surrendered their God given authority to secularists.

All Christian sects were united on human sexuality until about 1930. One by one mainline Christian sects peeled off into heresy regarding abortion and sterilization. It wasn't until well after the effects of the Pill on society that Baptists and other sects realized their errors and joined Rome in condemning the wholesale discounting of human life. Even today, the heavy lifting is being done by Rome and her children.

The damage to society has already been done. Its time for Christians to recognize that marriage is a sacrament given by Jesus (God) for our benefit and that divorce is not of God.
