A recent Baptist Press article by Mickey Noah states baptisms are the best indicator of church health because "...baptisms measure whether churches are reaching the lost -- not just moving believers around."
[Amen. I'm not one to encourage "sheep stealing." Moving sheep from pen to pen just changes the numbers of sheep in each pen, not the overall number of sheep. Ask any shepherd.]
What's the secret to more baptisms? Living the Gospel.
"They look for needs in the community and find ways to meet those needs, through food banks, emergency shelters, drug and alcohol recovery opportunities and other ministries"
