Muslims Leaving Islam

PajamasMedia has an interesting article claiming that Muslims are leaving Islam in droves. Among the aticle's claims are these:

Everyday, 16,000 Muslims convert to Christianity.

Every year, 6 million Muslims convert to Christianity.

While I cannot confirm the numbers, there have been articles in the past years documenting many Immams concerns that large numbers of Muslims are defecting to Christianity. There have also been reports of pious Muslims having visions of Jesus during Ramadan each year.

The article goes on to mention that Islamic youth are becoming disallusioned by the very visible contrast of the requirements of Islam and the everyday actions by corrupt Muslim leaders.

There is extensive commenting on the article. Among them, Hope Muntz mentions the lack of knowledge of Islam's roots within the Jewish and Christian faiths. It seems Hope Muntz may have read John of Damascus The Heresy of the Ishmaelites and understands that Mohammed had access to both sizeable Jewish and Christian communities in his formative years.
