Some quick research indicates that a significant number of Christians are seeking bible games on any given day. As we enjoy a good puzzle and suspect other Christians do too, CAS will offer bible cryptograms, commonly called "scriptograms", from time to time. For those unfamilar, a cryptogram is a type of puzzle which consists of a short piece of encrypted text. Solving cryptograms is one method for developing critical thinking skills and helps keep oneself mentally alert into old age. The brain needs exercise too! Use it or lose it.
We'll consistently tag the scriptograms so visitors can get
a page with just the scriptogram games and nothing extraneous.
So, to start the series, here's a cryptogram for a very well known Bible verse:
Vkl Zke nk rkqje fsj bklre, fsyf sj zyqj sdn ktrw ujzkffjt Nkt, fsyf bsknkjqjl ujrdjqjfs dt sda nskore tkf gjldns, uof syqj jqjlrynfdtz rdvj.
Hkst 3:16
Future CAS scriptograms will include both English and Latin versions. Technically, a cryptogram in Latin is called a xenogram. I suspect before long, that a Spanish language xenogram will be added for our Hispanic brothers and sisters and those learning Spanish to minister to the Hispanic community.
